Class Description

This beginning class is designed to help new service technicians learn the basics of air conditioning. Students will learn the refrigeration cycle and heat transfer. Why super-heating and sub-cooling are so important. basic troubleshooting skills are a must for any technician as well as best practices for a properly operating system and why they are critical in the cooling season.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Beginning Service and Maintenance Technicians, Installation Technicians moving to a service role. The best results are technicians that have some industry field experience.

Charles Wilkerson
Charles Wilkerson has been in the HVAC industry for 30 years. Starting out as a maintenance technician and working his way to lead technician. Charles found a passion in education and training for the HVAC industry where he became an instructor for a local community college. During that time Charles was able to build heating and cooling training programs from the ground up. He recognized the need for Training and Support in the Field. Following education, Charles became a General Manager of a small heating and cooling company where he was faced with the same training and support needs that most dealers face. Charles is committed to bringing education, training, and support to the next generation of service technicians through his employment with the O’Connor company.
Patrick Fetters
Patrick has been in the HVAC industry for 23 years as an installer and service technician in the residential and commercial sides. Patrick has his Master's mechanical license, NATE Certifications, and backup generator certifications. His area of expertise is troubleshooting and designing applications of HVAC equipment.
