Class Description

As systems become more complicated dealers need to ensure a trained technician is on staff to service variable speed equipment. Avoid basic problems with these systems and become familiar with unit operation and troubleshooting. Variable speed drive and an overview of the communications display assembly will be covered. System commissioning, alerts, and troubleshooting will also be covered using hands on displays. Pre-Requisites: Basic air conditioning and furnace electrical wiring and troubleshooting, refrigeration fundamentals, or other courses that teach basic skills.

• Basic review of installation of variable speed systems

• Overview of system displays and operations.

• Variable speed drive operation and troubleshooting

• Using the Link App

• Link System commissioning

• Troubleshooting of variable speed systems

Charles Wilkerson
Charles Wilkerson has been in the HVAC industry for 30 years. Starting out as a maintenance technician and working his way to lead technician. Charles found a passion in education and training for the HVAC industry where he became an instructor for a local community college. During that time Charles was able to build heating and cooling training programs from the ground up. He recognized the need for Training and Support in the Field. Following education, Charles became a General Manager of a small heating and cooling company where he was faced with the same training and support needs that most dealers face. Charles is committed to bringing education, training, and support to the next generation of service technicians through his employment with the O’Connor company.
Patrick Fetters
Patrick has been in the HVAC industry for 23 years as an installer and service technician in the residential and commercial sides. Patrick has his Master's mechanical license, NATE Certifications, and backup generator certifications. His area of expertise is troubleshooting and designing applications of HVAC equipment.
